Would you prefer a male or a female partner? Or do you even have a preference? gender means nothing to me, so

Describe your personality:
My personality can seem contradictory or random to others, as I can act quite differently depending on the situation and who I'm around. I'm cynical, but I can be passionate about the causes I care about and still get disappointed when people seem to be going backwards. I enjoy helping friends, but I can't stand most people. I'm nihilistic objectively, but I do care about things on a more personal level. I've been called easy-going + intense, reckless + planned, among other things. Often, one part of these will appear much more prominent than the other part, but then it'll eventually swing back and the other half will appear more prominent to the same degree. In other words, these traits can appear to swing in extremes depending on who I'm around.

I can be too outspoken, argumentative, and blunt. While I can plan things out usually... well, if they're important actions, at least, I need better control over my mouth. I have a tendency to open it no matter who it is-- I've gotten into arguments with teachers, managers, etc... I do have a filter over it to an extent, but this has created problems in the past.

You could call me "self-made," for lack of a better term. Much of what I know, I had to learn on my own. I've had to dig myself out of an area that seemed to have a "Abandon hope, all ye born here... unless you're one of the few sons/daughters of factory owners!" motto, and it has severely impacted my overall mentality and perspectives.

For personality types: INTP/J-- I'm always strongly INT, but the J/P is near the middle. (though the P descriptions normally do fit better, as I'm often more easy-going and I can't follow schedules.) 5 - "The Investigator", and most of that brief description for 5 (" Independent, innovative, and inventive, they can also become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructs. They become detached, yet high-strung and intense. They typically have problems with eccentricity, nihilism, and isolation") fits very well.. Chaotic Neutral, and while my morality is mixed and I don't believe in good and evil, I'm very far into that Chaotic spectrum. To briefly summarize all that: Often stuck in my own head. Determined. Prone towards disregarding rules. Willing to go out of the way for a close. Can be conniving and trickster-y. "Hard to get to know." Bored by routine and tradition. Adaptable. Challenges ideas. Prone towards thinking I'm right note to self: don't be such an ass.

Along those same lines, I'm a Scorpio, and I do tend to get either it (see: intensity, secrecy, and I do get jealous easily-- which is one of my least favorite traits) or Aquarius (progressive-thinking / possibly "misanthropic" when their views aren't met, can be alone despite not acting unfriendly by default, seen as strange by others, and "perverse"... well, does having a filthy sense of humor count?) +There's this popular quiz used on these, which does fit very well because I am secretly a hyena, particularly the part I highlighted.

Positive Traits: Analytical, independent, calm-minded (read: despite anything else, I at least think rationally), clever, open-minded, curious, humorous... but that can also be a negative *points below*

Negative Traits: Hopelessly self-critical, secretive (in the sense that I don't like to talk about my personal life - though I will talk about other things easily enough - and I tend to do/plan things without telling others), devious, obstinate, overly-curious, procrastinates too much, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, rather bitter... at least if you catch me on a bad day.

Think back to the last time you worked well with someone. Why did the two of you work? Because we both did our share of the work and just... understood each other enough to not argue much, I suppose.
And now let's hear the negative experiences. Why didn't you two work?
Oh god, this happens a lot. I should have a sticker on my forehead that reads "Doesn't play well with others." Clearly, this is the perfect theme for me! I'm impatient, and there aren't that many I like enough to want to work with in general, lol. For a specific circumstance, one time I just hated working with someone because I had to do everything as they spent the entire time gossiping about people to other people.

The people you prefer working with tend to be more...
Mature or Immature: Uh, it depends? There are types of both I don't like, heh. I'm perfectly fine with both for the most part, but I don't like it when maturity is associated with always being srs and a total killjoy. On the other hand, I don't like... petty immaturity, especially in the form of passive aggressiveness?
Leader or Follower: As long as they can think for themselves, I don't have a preference. I just hate when people agree for the sake of it or don't give their own opinions.
Optimistic or Pessimistic: realistic? otherwise, no real preference, just as long as they don't have... shonen-hero type optimism.
Impulsive or Cautious: Cautious I guess, as putting two rather impulsive people together probably wouldn't be a good idea.
Outgoing or Shy: Someone who is super outgoing would just kill all my energy, but other than that I don't really mind... I guess in the middle?

What kind of impression do you want to give your partner when you first meet?: That I am awesome! No, really, what else?

In all seriousness, that they're not... intimidated by me, I guess? Sometimes, people think I'm too intimidating or intense and are kind of scared of me for that reason, so I don't think we'd really work well together in that case. (Again, sometimes, on the flip side, they'd have to put up with my more laid-back side that goes "Oohh, bubble wrap~")
...And what kind of an impression would you want to have of them?: That they're awesome! /shot
What sort of fighting style do you think you'd have? Would you want your tag partner to have a similar fighting style or do you like a bit of a contrast from you? ...Or does it even matter to you?
I normally tend towards long-range, or at least middle-range, fighting styles, and yeah, having them contrast a bit would be best, but it isn't the most necessary aspect as if we were both long range, we could always pincer attack and have it so it's impossible to get close to both of us at the same time.
In tag-based fighting games, there's usually some sort of special team attack. What do you think your attack with your partner would look like?
SUPER SPARKLE RAINBOW GLITTER TIME I don't really care, flair isn't really my thing?
Why do you think your partner would even team up with you in the first place? Do they just like you or does the idea of fame and fortune entice them?
LOL, the idea of someone joining up with me because of fortune is just... rofl. I mean, even if there's some kind of money reward at the end, I'd probably lose it somehow, like there was probably a clause in there saying "reward is void if you use [x] move" and then I used that move because the fine print was impossible to read.

Anyway, it would probably be because our goals or beliefs align.
Would it be necessary for you and your partner to see eye-to-eye on everything?:
Does anyone agree on everything? XD So no, although as said above, I do tend to get along better if some of our ideas are the same.
So you've won the tournament... Congratulations! Do you and your partner stay friends afterwards, do you both just go your own way... Or were you maybe rivals that were putting your differences behind just for this event?
Staying friends afterwards sounds great, even if I know sometimes that's difficult to maintain if you don't see each other often.

Are there any characters you don't want as a partner? (You may pick up to three characters.) Gabranth and Tifa.
Anything else you'd like to add?
